Major Projects

BIRDS (Birth and Death Registration)

This web portal registers the Births and Deaths taking place in A & N Islands and generates birth and death certificates, RGI and other reports based on RGI guidelines.

Dweep Bhoomi (Computerization of Land Records)

The computerization of the land records is implemented in order to maintain the land related data of the islanders in the E-Form. The Objective of this is to Issue of documents on demand without any delay. Transparency in maintenance of land records. Make mutation process online & history tracking.

In Dweep Bhoomi software the entire workflow associated with all types of transactions have been computerized.

e-Basic (electronic Billing and Accounting System and Inventory control)

This web based portal maintains Inventory of the Sagarika Emporium with automated supply orders, computerized billing, reconciliation reports, payments modules etc.

E-Citizen Service

The office of Deputy Commissioner using a web based software called DC-Saral for the services offered for the public in order to faster way of processing the services requested by the people as per the citizen charter. The Objective of this is to Process the request of public in a faster way, and save enormous amount of time. Organize and Monitor the way of data at every stage so that tracking of services requested can be traced easily. Provide Faster and Reliable way of services to the people.

e-Courts

The e-Courts project is a Mission Mode Project (MMP) initiated by Govt of India for computerizing courts in the country, at various geographical levels, through a common and standardized system. In A & N Islands, the project is being successfully implemented in all courts functioning in District and Sessions court complex at Port Blair.

Requisite ICT infrastructure is provided to courts to facilitate computerization. The Court Information System (CIS) developed by NIC at national level is the core software to handle various activities taking place at individual courts.

In the second phase, the e-courts project is being extended to Taluka courts functioning throughout the UT.

ePanchayat for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj

The Panchayat Enterprise Suite consist of 10 web based software applications which is implemented by Ministry of Rural Development for implementation and monitoring the schemes, assets under panchayat, local government bodies details, village details, web Portal for Gram Panchayat etc.

E-Tehsil

This is also a web based software called e-Tehsil developed for Tehsil offices to issue various certificate to citizens in a computerized format like (OBC, Income, family member, Solvency, valuation etc.). The status of the Application as well as pending details can also be traced out.

File Monitoring System (FMS)

This is a web based Software for the normal traking of files or letters in the internal movement. which is helpful for tracing out the files or Letters amoung the office Staffs. How many files are pending with each officers and their subordinate officers.Day wise pending summary. Duration of pending with each officers and their subordinate offices.

HelpDesk at LGOffice

This portal is an initiative of Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Andaman & Nicobar Administration to redress the grievances of the Citizens of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The portal facilitates the major objectives of :

Receiving grievances from Citizens in electronic and paper form at LG Office.
Routing the grievances to the concerned Offices of Andaman & Nicobar Administration.
Offices to update action taken on Grievances.
Monitoring the Redressal of Grievances by Offices, within Stipulated time.
The Citizens can track the status of thier Grievance, through this portal.

Indra Awaas Yojana scheme

IAY Scheme is implemented by Ministry of Rural Development for construction of houses for BPL families. Web based software is developed for release of funds to BPL beneficiaries and reporting is done for house construction at various stages by Rural Development & Line Department officials.

Land Use Statistics System

Land utilisation pattern is the basic information needed for studying and managing agriculture. The Directorate of Economics & Statistics in the Ministry of Agriculture have been collecting data on the nine-fold classification of land, irrigated area source-wise and crop-wise and area under crops, from the individual States for each of the districts in the country.

mFMS (Mobile Fertilizer Management System)

The objective of the mFMS is to monitor the movement of the fertilizer from the Manufacturer to Warehouse to Wholesalers and from Wholesalers to Retailers. The proposed system will help in monitoring the movement of Fertilizer’s consignments and its stock position at various warehouses, wholesaler, and retailer. The system will also act as a tool for Government Bodies to track and ensure the timely distribution of fertilizers to the farmers.

Mother & Child Tracking

Mother & Child Tracking Offline data receiving system for NRHM, Nicobar district to receive mother & child tracking data through sms(in a specified format) to a destination mobile connected with a computer in NRHM, Car Nicobar. Those sms data, then parsed by the web application & populated in the corresponding tables which has been framed as per the physical file formats. This application is mainly to avoid the delay in file movement with remote islands of nicobar district.

NHM (National Horticulture Mission)

A National Horticulture Mission is launched as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme to promote holistic growth of the horticulture sector through an area based regionally differentiated strategies. The scheme is fully funded by the Government and different components proposed for implementation financially supported on the scales laid down.

Online Service Portal

The online service portal is single source of information for the eServices provided by andaman & Nicobar Administration. This portal provides listing of online websites and eservice application based on different search criteria suchas departmentwise, Service domain wise such as G2G,G2B,G2c,G2E etc.

Planned Family System

This Web based portal maintains and monitors the details of the girl child beneficiary who have availed benefits under the Planned Family Scheme offered by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

PROMISE (Project Monitoring Information System)

The Andaman & Nicobar Administration undertakes several projects, under both Central and State scheme, benefiting the population of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The Projects are normally executed by the Departments at various locations throughout the Islands. Most of the projects have defined targets for timeline and costs. This MIS software facilitates the monitoring of the projects, both financial and physical, against the targets and pinpoints deviation and delays. The software can bring ttransparency in the implementation of the projects.

Quarter Allotment System

The Housing & Estate Section, Secretariat deals with the allotment of Govt. accommodation to the Govt. employees posted within the Port Blair Tehsil. This Web Portal brings about transparency in the allotment process by providing the seniority list and the current occupant details first hand in the web.

Tenders Online system

This Portal facilitates the uploading of tenders initiated by the departments of A & N administration. It generated a unique No which is mandatory for publishing the tenders in the local newspaper. This portal allows the department to upload tenders, corrigendum, cancel tenders, view live tenders , search for specific tenders based on a set of parameters.

TPDS (Targeted Public Distribution System) Project

The Public Distribution System (PDS) evolved as a system of management of scarcity and for distribution of food grains at affordable prices. Over the years, PDS has become an important part of Government’s policy for management of food economy in the country. PDS is supplemental in nature and is not intended to make available the entire requirement of any of the commodities distributed under it to a household or a section of the society.

PDS is operated under the joint responsibility of the Central and the State Governments. The Central Government, through FCI, has assumed the responsibility for procurement, storage, transportation and bulk allocation of food grains to the State Governments. The operational responsibility including allocation within State, identification of families below the poverty line, issue of Ration Cards and supervision of the functioning of FPS. Under the PDS, presently the commodities namely wheat, rice, sugar and kerosene are being allocated to the States/UTs for distribution. Some States/UTs also distribute additional items of mass consumption through the PDS outlets such as pulses, edible oils, iodized salt, spices, etc.

Tribal Pass

Tribal Pass web applicattion with sms enabled service to Issue/ renew tribal passes & send alerts for the applicants and for DC to ask(through sms) other dealing hands of the Tribal Pass application for the pending status.

The website provides useful information on the functions of the District and Taluka courts, contact details, etc., The salient feature of website is the dissemination of dynamic database oriented information relating to Cause lists, Judgement and Orders etc., of the individual courts. The information is provided through a common interface in an integrated manner. It will now be possible for citizens to search the website on individual Case details, Cases coming up for hearing etc., in online mode.

This website is an effort on the part of District & Sessions court, A & N Islands to bring transparency in the system, using ICT for the benefit of the citizens.

6th National e-Governance Award – Chandigarh (Year -2002)

The official website of Tourism Department, A & N Administration (http://tourism.andaman.nic.in) had been awarded the Best Website Award in the 6th National Conference on e-Governance Award, 2004 by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab Capt. Amrinder Singh at Chandigarh. The website was developed by the team from NIC, A & N UT Centre and NIC(HQ), New Delhi.

Lt. Governor Rolling Trophy on Best use of IT – A & N Islands (Year – 2007)

The official website of Relief & Rehabilitation, Andaman & Nicobar Administration had also been awarded the Lt. Governor Rolling Trophy on IT in 2007 by the Hon’ble Lt. Governor A & N Islands Shri Bhoopinder Singh at Port Blair.

11th National e-Governance Award – Panchkula, Haryana (Year-2008)

Silver Award : The official website of Relief & Rehabilitation , A & N Administration had been awarded the Silver Award in the 11th National Conference on e-Governance Award 2008, for Innovative Usage of Technology, by the Hon’ble Minister of Communication and IT Shri A.Raja at Panchkula, Haryana. The website was developed by the team from NIC, A & N UT Centre.

Lt. Governor Rolling Trophy on Best use of IT– A & N Islands (Year – 2008)

The District Administration, South Andaman District, Port Blair had been awarded the Lt. Governor Rolling Trophy on IT in 2008 by the Hon’ble Lt. Governor A & N Islands Shri Bhoopinder Singh at Port Blair for the Excellent Work done in E-Governance for the year 2008. The complete IT support was provided by NIC, District Unit, DC Office, South Andaman District, Port Blair.

First Prize in the ITF 2011

The Election department had for the first time, put a stall in 2011 at ITF ground, Port Blair during the popular Island Tourism Festival (ITF) 2011 which was celebrated from 5th to 17th Jan 2011 at Port Blair. The Election Department stall was inaugurated by the Hon’le Lt. Governor, A & N Islands on 5th Jan 2011. Computers with software & facility for searching the ‘Electoral roll’. The complete IT support was provided by NIC, Port Blair.
